Our question of the week is:
More votes counted by Division of Elections
The Division of Elections is now not only releasing the vote totals, but also the second and third votes that voters cast. These are coming out in raw data files that take really specialized skills to analyze.
One person we know, a X/Twitter account named CINYC9, was Johnny-on-the-spot last night and came up with this analysis for how the rankings will go with the updated data. This is what is looks like after all second, third, and fourth votes are reassigned:
“Not all votes reported tonight are in the CVR, but after running the RCV algorithm on it, @NickforAlaska Begich leads @MaryPeltola by about 4.4 points, 52.2-47.8% (12K votes),” he wrote. Thank you, CINYC9, for helping Alaska understand what is happening in our elections.
Ballot Measure 2 — repealing ranked-choice mess — tightens slightly
Mystery of the day

This is good, but Donald Trump keeps poaching members for his cabinet.
Dan Sullivan’s 60th birthday
Sen. Dan Sullivan marks the calendar. He has finished 60 spins around the sun, but he’s still going strong, and might end up being Alaska’s senior senator in a few, since our senior senator Lisa Murkowski might not have ranked-choice voting to save her next time.

Republican of the week
“It's been a week and I'm still beside myself that America was saved by an autistic billionaire genius, a murdered squirrel, a 5' tall thumb, and a 6'5" openly gay Republican foot-soldier.” - Anon.
