Lucy, football — Anchorage Assembly’s Golden Lion hypocrisy
The liberal Assembly wanted the vacant hotel for drug addicts, but now that this conservative mayor agrees with them that it can be used for controlled rent for low income, they won’t fund it.
Spokane spent millions on vagrant problem. Then it just grew
Another city in the Northwest is finding out the hard way — the street people are running circles around the city leaders in Spokane.

Moving on up: Street people encampments are getting elaborate. In Seattle, someone brought in a blow-up pool. At 3rd and Ingra, they brought in a boat and trailer.

Climate change theory of the week
“The earth just had the hottest day in recorded history.” - Democrats and reporters
There is no way for anyone to verify this theory, which has been preached as gospel by mainstream media. Humans have only had the ability to reliably measure the temperature of anything for 400 years. Official global temperature records began in 1880.
Meanwhile, in Anchorage, it has been 17 days straight of below normal, daily average temperatures. June 25th was the last time Anchorage was warmer than normal (0.1 degrees warmer than normal). Bear Paw Festival is going to be a wet one.
Eagle River Bear Paw Festival
If you’re not going to Nenana for the festivities around the centennial of the Interior Railroad completion on Saturday, maybe you’ll get as far as Eagle River Bear Paw Festival. In 2021, about 60,000 people attended. Slippery Salmon Olympics, parade, amusement park rides, and food booths….Check here for more information.

Secret Services closes investigation with no answers on West Wing coke
The U.S. Secret Service closed its investigation into cocaine found at the White House because of a "lack of physical evidence" 11 days after the illegal drug was found in the West Wing. How will a Republican president ever be able to trust the Secret Service after this coverup? House Oversight chairman has questions. We all do.
Reminder: The FBI has still not found the person who leaked the draft decision on overturning Roe v. Wade with the Dobbs decision. The Supreme Court in January issued a report saying it could not discover who leaked the document, the first and worst leak in American history from the Supreme Court.
Biden announces new student debt relief plan
The Biden administration will give $39 billion of taxpayer money to 804,000 student loan borrowers. This is President Biden’s response to the Supreme Court striking down his last student loan forgiveness plan, in which borrowers got at least $10,000 each. This plan is for borrowers who make payments on their loans for 20 or 25 years.

Question of the Week: What me, worry?
This day in history
July 14, Bastille Day, commemorates the date of the storming of the Bastille in 1789, during the early days of the French Revolution. (It ought to be a laugh riot this year.)
