Video: Biden needs a ground proximity warning system
The president who slips, trips, and falls, is lucky he did not break a hip during this very awful face plant.
Now, we were curious: What kind of heels are those on his shoes? Are they stabilizers? Lifts? Orthotics? We found the answer: They are Campanile Sport shoes. As for the sandbag…A Lying Dog Faced Pony Soldier Sandbag.
Good morning from Somewhere in Alaska!
Don Bateman, Alaska aviation safety pioneer who invented Ground Proximity Warning System, passes
RIP Don Bateman, at the ripe old age of 91. He saved an untold number of Alaskan lives by inventing the “Terrain ahead — Pull Up!!” ground proximity warning system.
As a personal connection, I flew into Juneau the day after Flight 1866 crashed into the side of a mountain in the Chilkat Range, and our jet over-headed to Anchorage rather than land in that soupy September weather. These days, they land jets in Juneau when you can barely see the tips of the wings from 6F. Bateman created a lot of that technology. Who knows how many of us he saved!
DC Draino in Anchorage
If you are looking for a good evening and fellowship with younger Alaska conservatives (and a major conservative rock star), you may still be able to get tickets to Friday night’s event with DC Draino.
It will give you hope for a return of America the Great.
Thank you for being a reader and subscriber at Must Read Alaska. I appreciate everyone who has chipped in to this conservative news project, now in its 8th year because of you.
Chinese spies pose as tourists in Alaska? So says USA Today
The report does not name sources, but says they are military. Is this a government-planted psy-ops story or is there truth to it? Be careful with these kinds of stores. We don’t know if it’s planted, and suspect USA Today doesn’t either.
KINY deal goes through; new owners are in Bakersfield
This deal has been in the works since last year, but the FCC made it official for Juneau hometown stations.
Talking homelessness to death: Assembly schedules more talking
They have meetings and town halls on Friday, and the camps coming to your neighborhood are on the agenda for Tuesday. This deal is going through and it will change Anchorage neighborhoods.
Dunleavy appoints Tuckerman Babcock to UA Board of Regents
The appointment infuriates the Woke Liberation Army. His confirmation won’t be on the legislative calendar for nearly a year and we know what will happen at the confirmation, what with the Democrat-controlled Alaska Senate, but it will be a fun time until then.
In GOP-controlled House, the debt ceiling bill passes with majority Democrat votes
The Democrats stuck together, mainly. Peltola voted with the Dems. Not everyone is wild about the details. But moving on to the Senate….
Murkowski votes yes, Sullivan votes no, and Senate passes bill to lift debt ceiling
The bill kicks the debt ceiling can down the road until after the 2024 election. Cynical is the word you’re looking for.
ConocoPhillips will develop Nuna
The oil field will yield 20,000 barrels per day at peak. Work will begin this summer.
Jobs alert: Delta Constructors will fabricate the Nuna Module down at the Port of Alaska. It will sail north in June of 2024.

Dunleavy former family advisor tells everyone to ‘f—-’ off
This is a meltdown of the ages. Cubas was listed as a policy analyst for Dunleavy, although they say he was only in charge of building a family-policy website.
Trump slams former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany
Kayleigh undeservedly got the brunt of Trump’s infamous ire when she released polling he disputed. She doesn’t work for him anymore, and looks like she will not be working for him again.
This day in history
June 2, 1840 – The British flag replaced the Russian flag over Fort Dionysius. Hudson’s Bay Company changed the name to Fort Stikine. (In 1868 the name was changed to Fort Wrangell and the American flag was raised.)

Many of us have quit using phrases such as “How much worse can it get?” or “Now I’ve heard it all,” because the responses we keep getting back are, respectively, “Much worse,” and “No you haven’t.”
