Fired from Fox in April, Carlson finally jumped in, tanned and rested, and the water was more than fine at Twitter where his audience grew exponentially. Watch the segment.
Trans-fairness: Alaska Board of Education to take up question of boys competing as girls
The meeting is in Soldotna. What will the Alaska Board of Education do and what does Sen. Loki Tobin (she/her) want the board to do?
Mike Pence files FEC paperwork for his presidential bid
The Pence and Trump drama could be interesting as they went through the same events, but experienced them separately. Pence appeals to a different kind of Republican.
Chris Christie launches his campaign for president
A town hall event displayed his mastery of the issues, and his willingness to name Trump and define him as "Voldemort.”
Doug Burgum announces his candidacy in Wall Street Journal
Late last night in the Wall Street Journal, the Republican North Dakota governor announced he is running:
“When Joe Biden released his video announcing his re-election campaign, it was shocking what was missing. He failed to articulate any economic vision for the country, he ignored the anxiety of families grappling with inflation, and he looked the other way as a recession looms.
“We need a change in the White House. We need a new leader for a changing economy. That’s why I’m announcing my run for president today.” The rest of his op-ed is here.
CDC director takes farewell tour of Anchorage labs
CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky was on her first trip to Alaska on Tuesday, and her last trip to Alaska as CDC director. She toured the Alaska Public Health Laboratory in Anchorage with Alaska’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anne Zink.
Walensky talked to health care professionals about the experiences they had managing the Covid pandemic.
But Walensky had last month announced she is leaving the CDC at the end of this month, so this really appears to be just a vacation as she heads out the door.
President Joe Biden said he is naming Mandy Cohen, a physician and public health expert, to lead the CDC. The New York Post calls Cohen a “telegenic authoritarian straight from liberal central casting” who embodies the worst of the worst Covid pandemic policies.
Rep. Peltola doubles down in support of puberty blockers for children
In a “Pride Month” social media message, Alaska’s only representative encouraged Alaskans to volunteer with Identity Inc. She linked a donation page for the group. This is the group that pushes chemical hormone treatments on confused children.
Peltola refuses to sign letter demanding transparency from Sec. Deb Haaland
Noticeably absent on the signature list of the House Committee on Natural Resources letter is Alaska’s Mary Peltola, who is an ally of Haaland.
Fish, family, but no freedom: Peltola votes against Americans’ right to own a gas kitchen stove
A pair of bills that safeguard the freedom to use gas cooking stoves failed in the House of Representatives on Tuesday. Rep. Mary Peltola voted against it, as did every Democrat. (But the bill failed mainly because of the Freedom Caucus, which was not a good look for them.)
House committee to hold contempt hearing on FBI Director Chris Wray
How did the Bidens get so rich? Foreign payments, and lots of them. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., announced the committee will conduct a contempt hearing for FBI Director Christopher Wray on Thursday at 9 a.m.
Coast Guard evacuates 51 from small cruise ship in Glacier Bay after fire
This is one of those boutique cruise ships, where people spent thousands of dollars to have a less-industrial trip through the Inside Passage and do things like kayaking in Glacier Bay.
Update: The ship has been towed and is just west of Wrangell, heading toward Ketchikan.
Carl Jacobs wants you to answer his survey on Anchorage education
The liberal school board member asked the Twitter universe to give him feedback, so why not the MRAK Nation too? Here’s the survey, and it’s on his campaign page, so that makes it look like Jacobs plans to run again next March.

Anchorage Assembly wants mayor to set up one sanctioned camp
The Anchorage liberal Assembly lost its mind last year when the mayor set up a sanctioned camp for homeless people at Centennial Park. They called the move a humanitarian crisis and equated the mayor to a Nazi. Now the Assembly, voting 9-2, requested the mayor set up a sanctioned camp in Midtown Anchorage. You cannot make this stuff up.
But the resolution, which took up most of last night’s meeting, has no effect because there’s no money to do it.
“The problem comes down to money — there’s no money left to do a lot of this. I support this, but we’ve got to look at the money now,” Bronson commented.
This day in history
June 7, 1942 , Japanese troops landed on Attu Island in the Aleutians and made prisoners of the Aleut residents.

The writer from the Kenai was pressured by his wife into watching the documentary. He came away impressed at the amazing work of writer-thinker-speaker Matt Walsh in exposing the leftists who repeatedly fall into his trap when simply asked to define what a woman is. They just cannot do it. But his wife can.

Decades of failures by some legislatures and governors to reform OCS suggest we should redirect our focus to reforming the judiciary branch. After all, laws and policies mean nothing when judges ignore them and get away with it.
