Juneau is all wet
Three more days of hard rain are in the forecast for Juneau, but the weather so far has resulted in one mudslide and boats in danger of sinking in the harbor.
On Sunday, a landslide occurred in the area above Gastineau Avenue. Capital City Fire/Rescue responded and evacuated several individuals. While on scene, two additional slides and additional evacuations occurred in the same general location.
More heavy rainfall is expected to continue through Tuesday. Residents who live in a landslide zone should consider their evacuation plans in the event of additional slides throughout the Borough, the fire department said.
