Bronson campaign fundraisers are bringing out hundreds, as the public begins to wake up
People are getting scared of what could happen under LaFrance. They’re turning out in record numbers to support Bronson at these fundraisers. But will it be enough?
The final results were certified by the Anchorage Assembly on Tuesday. LaFrance is at 36.23% and Bronson is at 35.57%. There were 473 more voters who thought LaFrance would do a better job. Turnout was 30.44%, but turnout among government workers and teachers was closer to 90%.
Anchorage is at a crossroad.
Republican Party re-engages with campaign
Spotted at the Monday fundraiser for Bronson was Carmela Warfield, new chairwoman of the Alaska Republican Party, who introduced the mayor. We also saw Anchorage Republican Women’s Club co-Chair Portia Erickson, who is the Republican Delegation Chairwoman to the Republican National Convention, and ARP Treasurer Kevin Fimon. It was a turning of the corner to see the Republican Party getting involved again in the local race that shapes the entire state.

Senate bill warped by Sen. Giessel into allowing transition counseling for students without parents’ knowledge
It's shocking what the Senate majority leader, who is a Republican, is trying to get written into law: Counseling of your child by a person you have never met and in a circumstance you’ve never agreed to as a parent.
Republican governors’ statement to Joe Biden: Current LNG policy is punishing U.S. allies
Biden is destabilizing everything he touches.
Another break in the Quintillion fiber optic line leaves North Slope communities with no internet
The federal government has subsidized cable and leaves satellites out of the mix, so there is no backup for rural Alaska.
Update: Looks like they’ve configured a temporary fix for some communities.
