How big is Israel, compared to ???
Israel is about 5.472 million acres, roughly the same as the Chugach National Forest, at 5.5 million acres. Gaza City is 11,120 acres, Gaza Strip is 90,176 acres.
To compare, Anchorage Parks and Recreation Department manages 10,946 acres of parks. Anchorage covers about 1.2 million acres. Homer is 16,160 acres and Seward is 14,000 acres. The city of Fairbanks covers 21,000 acres, and Juneau (city and borough consolidated) is over 2 million acres.
How does Israel compare to Ukraine? Ukraine is just under 150 million acres, smaller than Texas, (171.902 million acres).
How many Jews were slaughtered?
The attack on Israel was the largest mass murder of Jews on any day since the Holocaust. As the death toll from Saturday’s attack on Israel reached 1,200, with 2,700 known to be injured, Jews have pointed out that this is “Israel’s 9/11” or “Israel’s Pearl Harbor.”
Others have compared it to the Holocaust. The former spokesperson for Israeli President Isaac Herzog, wrote, “It’s no exaggeration to say yesterday was the darkest day in Jewish history since the end of the Holocaust.”
And now the retaliation: Palestinian authorities say more than 830 people have been killed and 4,200 injured in Gaza in Israeli retaliatory attacks.
