Snow here, snow there, now rain and wind heading everywhere
There will be no Anchorage school today, due to the city getting hammered with a record amount of snow in just over a week. It’s remote learning time again, and you know what that means — kids fall behind when schedules turn to chaos.
The neighborhoods are impassable and people are literally snowed in at their homes, with wet, windy weather on the way.
Is it time to call out the National Guard to help clear snow, Gov. Dunleavy?
Over 1,400 customers were without power on Tuesday night, and 1,500 on Wednesday morning. Anchorage residents should be ready for more power outages, as gusty winds in the Anchorage area and the Mat-Su will add stress to snow-laden trees and power lines. Winds increase Wednesday morning, with wind gusts forecast to be strongest (25 mph) on the Anchorage Hillside.
Is it time to call out the National Guard?
We’re starting to see a life-threatening situation if people can’t get to dialysis or chemotherapy appointments, or cannot even make it to the pharmacy for life-saving drugs.
What is it going to take to call in reinforcements?
We appreciate all generous Alaskans who keep this conservative enterprise going!

This day in history
