Trump makes history: Impeached twice, indicted twice, arraigned twice, tied with Biden in polls
Flag Day today, and we're hanging onto Old Glory as if our liberty depends on it
Good morning from Somewhere in Alaska!
Here on the North Slope, the weather is looking good, thank you very much. But in communities across the northern and northwestern coast, there’s no cell service for a few weeks. No online bill paying, no credit card swipes. No Fortnite? Oh no! No online gambling! No OnlyFans! The challenges of living in the deep Arctic, in 2023.
Thank you
Thanks for being a reader and subscriber at Must Read Alaska, the news project — in its 8th year — that the alt-left and deep-staters love to hate and can’t stop reading.
Legislature finally transmits budget to governor
It was a finger-drumming wait, but the Alaska Legislature finally transmitted the FY 24 budget to the governor on Tuesday. The governor’s fiscal staff had already started their veto revision process right after session, so things are progressing. Sometime in the next two weeks, Gov. Mike Dunleavy will sign the budget, as the new fiscal year starts July 1. Legislative Finance documents reviewable at this link.
Can you hear me now? Broadband, cell is on the North Slope
FromUtqiagvik to Nome, the fiber optic cable has been severed and Quintillion is trying to hurry the fix. Hospitals, businesses, homes are without service. No online stock trading for you, Kotzebue. No hospital record transactions for you, Nome. And what about the kids … What, no Fortnite? There’s a satellite for that.
Jamie Allard: A day for our flag, which represents freedom
Our favorite Army veteran here at Must Read Alaska has some thoughts: On Flag Day we pay tribute to a symbol of freedom that is known the world over as a beacon of hope and justice, that sweet Old Glory, our American Flag.
Wierdo of Wall Street: JPMorgan’s strange journey from anti-Alaska policies to settling with a sex fiend
They admitted nothing with Jeffrey Epstein entanglements, but stuff was coming out they knew was really bad, so they just settled the lawsuit, rather than have it all exposed. It turns out JPMorgan is just the Weirdo of Wall Street.
Question of the Week
Thanks from the bottom of my heart to everyone who subscribes to Must Read Alaska. Help spread share the news that balances the left-stream media.
Buying Alaska: 78% of Alaska Democrat Party funds come from Outside state
Political colonialism: The Alaska Democrats would be scratching around in the dirt if they didn’t have Outside funding to elevate them, and that is how they are flipping the state blue. Cheap date theory.
Al Gross makes top 20 list of candidates with most Outside funding
In 2020, the bear doctor ran against Sen. Dan Sullivan and 90+% of his money came from Outside sources. He made the list! More political colonialism.

Then he flew off to his club in New Jersey for a rally and speech.
Be sure to take the poll below — who do you have more confidence in: DJT or DOJ?
Tucker Carlson — Will he cease, will he desist?
Fox News sent Tucker Carlson a “cease-and-desist” letter over his Twitter series, “Tucker on Twitter,” as the network tries to take him out of action. Meanwhile, his third edition had 48 million views in its first 15 hours on Tuesday. Carlson’s lawyers are now urging a Fox News boycott. Pass the popcorn, please.
This June 6-8 poll should concern the Left

Bob Bird reviews: ‘What is a Woman?’
The writer from the Kenai was pressured by his wife into watching the documentary. He came away impressed at the amazing work of writer-thinker-speaker Matt Walsh in exposing the leftists who repeatedly fall into his trap when simply asked to define what a woman is. They just cannot do it. But his wife can.
David Ignell: To reform Alaska OCS, we must first reform the judiciary
Decades of failures by some legislatures and governors to reform OCS suggest we should redirect our focus to reforming the judiciary branch. After all, laws and policies mean nothing when judges ignore them and get away with it.
