Two elections in Anchorage end this week
The Anchorage mayor’s runoff election ends Tuesday at 8 p.m. Last chance to save Anchorage, folks!
Chugach Electric’s annual meeting and election is Friday, May 17, 2024, 6 – 7:30 p.m. at ChangePoint Alaska. The annual meeting will be held the same day as Chugach's Member Appreciation Event.
Two candidates will be elected to 4-year terms on the Chugach Board of Directors. The four candidates running this year were approved by the Nominating Committee. The incumbents are dedicated to increasing your electric bills.

Boy Scouts have been neutered, Girl Scouts not so much
Boy Scouts of America has abandoned its boys once and for all. After allowing girls to join, it has a new name: Scouting America. No longer will it be a place to build men of character in a place they can call their own.
“Girl Scouts has no plans to admit boys into the organization. Research shows that a girl learns best in an all-girl, girl-led, and girl-friendly environment. Our programs are designed specifically for girls at their various developmental stages through youth,” the Girl Scouts state on their website.
